Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Richmond, VA. You will drive sustaining engineering for Door and Frame product lines, using 3D CAD and PLM to support design and development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering design and development experience (3 years with a master’s degree; or a PhD with 1 year).
• Experience with refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or similar design theory and application is preferred.
• Experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean tools is a plus.
• Project management experience in designing, testing, and launching new designs.

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering deliverables to meet project timelines.
• Assist manufacturing in troubleshooting production issues related to product and component design.
• Use 3D CAD to create and revise components.
• Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) to define required components and coordinate engineering activities.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and agency listings (UL, NSF, DOE).
• Prepare preliminary and conceptual designs for customer submittal drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process and product improvements.
• Manage projects end-to-end including scoping, resources, planning, and tracking.
