Job summary

Lam Research Corporation seeks a Product Engineer in the Global Products Group to drive development of ESCs and related hardware for plasma etchers. You’ll partner with customers and internal teams to address real-time challenges, helping to advance device performance in a high-stakes environment.

The role emphasizes designing, testing, and qualifying electrostatic chuck hardware, with close attention to process windows, defectivity, and thermal management.

Qualifications

• PhD in materials science, electrical/mechanical engineering, physics, or related field is highly desired.
• 3+ years of semiconductor product design experience or equivalent, or 3–6 years with a Master’s, or 8 years with a Bachelor’s.
• Strong ownership and accountability mindset.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining test hardware for semiconductor equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manages new product introduction and production support for ESCs from inception to qualification.
• Collaborates with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to solve issues.
• Develops process improvements to reduce costs and increase yields.
• Develops new or modified hardware for electrostatic chucks and related hardware.
• Sets engineering specifications for ESCs and subsystems based on customer requirements.
• Defines testing requirements for production-readiness qualification and POR processes.
• Assesses materials, and supports field issues related to this hardware.
• Leads cross-functional teams to coordinate subsystems for next-gen hardware.
