Job summary

Echelon is building the AI platform for Business Operations. We enable operators to automate knowledge work at scale, working with founders and customers in a fast-paced environment.

Take ambiguous customer problems from conversation to production across the frontend, APIs, data model, workflows, and AI interactions. You will ship 0-to-1 capabilities, design secure multi-tenant APIs, and own performance and reliability for the systems you ship.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production software experience, including early-stage environments.
• Ability to ship 0-to-1 features with evolving requirements and direct customer input.
• Strong frontend (TypeScript/React) and backend (Node.js) capabilities.
• Solid SQL skills and relational data modeling, with safe migrations.
• Experience with distributed jobs, retries, and external APIs.
• Security-first mindset with tenant isolation and least privilege.

Responsibilities

• Ship 0-to-1 product capabilities across React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and async workflows.
• Build experiences to explore processes, relationships, evidence, and automated work.
• Design secure multi-tenant APIs and data models with migrations.
• Develop agent workflows with tool execution, document processing, and review.
• Strengthen primitives for authorization, background jobs, storage, and integrations.
• Collaborate with customers to understand problems and iterate in production.
• Own production performance, failures, and recovery for your systems.
• Maintain a high engineering bar with tests, code reviews, and clean architecture.
