Job summary

Gigs is hiring a Senior Engineer to help build our connectivity platform. You will own features end to end, ship frequently, and work across frontend and backend in modern stacks like Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.

You will maintain our CI/CD pipelines, monitor systems, and help design scalable infrastructure to meet ambitious goals. You should be comfortable with rapid iteration, applying AI workflows to improve productivity, and collaborating with Design and Product to shape user

The Role

What we're building at Gigs has not been built before. You'll join one of our teams to work on products like Connect, Dashboard or Gigs for Work, figure out the hard parts without a playbook, and borrow proven ideas that solved a similar problem. Within your first three months, you will start owning features from first sketch to production rollout.

Ship with confidence and urgency

• Own features end to end. You plan, build, roll out and iterate features. You're comfortable deploying to production multiple times a day, in small, frequent releases.
• Run what you build. That means maintaining our CI/CD pipeline, investing in monitoring and observability, and scaling the infrastructure. You carry the pager for what you have built.
• Work across the full stack. You'll write frontend and backend code in Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, all kept on current versions. You keep up with these technologies and push for upgrades.

Design for where we're going

• Shape user experiences with Design and Product. You'll work with both teams daily, bring ideas that go beyond what we've already planned and challenge what is already there.
• Build systems that match our ambition. We are growing fast, and our systems need to scale with us. You'll design them to stay maintainable as they grow.

Work as a team

• Collaborate with candor. You'll work with colleagues across engineering through code reviews, RFCs and working groups. You care personally and challenge directly: you give honest feedback and welcome it in return.
• Use the AI tools we provide. Multiply your output, experiment with new workflows, share what works and be honest about what does not.

Salary rangefor Senior Engineer: $205,000 - $235,000 (base salary) + equity

(The final offer depends on your background, skills, and how you perform through the process. We're open to considering mid, senior and staff-level candidates, which may result an adjustment to the scope and compensation)

What We Are Looking For

We care more about what you've shipped than about how many years you've been doing it or where you've worked.

What you've done

• You've shipped production web apps with React and TypeScript. You can implement common and advanced React patterns, you have deep knowledge of the component lifecycle, and you know what belongs on the client and what belongs on the server.
• You've built and maintained software at scale. You know what breaks in a system when the load grows 10x, and you design with that in mind.
• You have a pragmatic view on automated testing. You know what to test, what to leave alone, how to test it, and why.
• You roll up your sleeves. If shipping your feature means working in an unfamiliar area, you dive in rather than wait for someone else to do it. For example, our work spans TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, RESTful APIs, Docker, Terraform, GCP and GitHub Actions, among others.

How you work

• You enjoy building something new. Much of what we do has no precedent, so you're comfortable figuring things out, and you apply lateral thinking where others have solved similar problems. You stay curious about what customers want and users need.
• You make AI a core part of how you work. You use AI extensively everyday to build, debug and ship software. You build your own AI workflows to multiply your output and keep them up to date as the tooling evolves. You maintain a deep understanding of the codebase and take responsibility for what you ship, with the judgement to spot when AI tools are wrong.
• You care about impact. You weigh speed against quality and can explain a trade-off you made and why. Everything you do is driven by business impact.

• You've shipped and scaled AI features to production that real users depend on, beyond demos.
