Zingage (Kuzushi Inc.) is building a first-class AI-enabled communication platform in New York. We are hiring a full-time on-site engineer who will own critical surfaces and collaborate with product and design to ship safe, scalable features.

You’ll join a tight team reporting to the VP of Engineering. The role offers top-of-market base pay, meaningful equity, and an in-office culture with daily meals and regular team events in Soho.

Home care is a $130B industry that runs on the telephone, and we are the AI that answers it. Zingage's agents coordinate scheduling, on-call, and intake for 120+ home care agencies. 300K+ patient visits a month ride on our decisions, across every major EMR in the industry.

We recently closed our Series A, backed by Bessemer, Bertelsmann Investments, and Yosemite (Reed Jobs), and the team is deliberately small and dense: operators and engineers from Ramp, Uber, Tennr, Datadog, and Verkada. Headquartered in New York.

The problem

Every communication platform ever built assumed all participants were human. Slack built work chat for people; OpenPhone built the business phone for people. We are building the first communication platform where an AI is a first-class participant, for an industry that still runs on the telephone.

That creates an interaction problem nobody has designed: the three-party primitive. A caregiver, an agent, and a scheduler share one conversation, and “who am I talking to right now” is a live product question. Threads must survive the handoff in both directions. Presence includes a machine. The agent-to-human handoff is the atomic unit of this platform, and it is where trust is negotiated in real time.

And the users are the ones great product engineers say they want and never get: schedulers and caregivers with brutal jobs, a five-year-old Android in a parking lot, and zero patience for software that performs cleverness. A mis-sent message here lands at 6AM on a grieving family. The craft bar is high because the stakes are.

For you: sole ownership of the surface an entire industry touches hourly, at a company where the rails are the strategy, not a feature. And you will not be sprinting without a floor: our agent runtime provides the governance, receipts, and replay layers that make daily shipping safe, so you build fast because that foundation makes fast survivable. Together, the two seats are the halves of one thesis: context from systems, context from people.

The handoff and the daytime workspace

The moment an agent says “let me get a person,” and the shared queue where a scheduler and an agent work side by side. The agent shows its work, asks at the right granularity, can be interrupted mid-action, and hands back gracefully. Every “AI coworker” demo in the industry dodges this problem by never sharing a real queue with a real human whose job is changing. You build the real one. The interaction model is owned by our Head of Product; the build is yours.
