Job summary

SanMar is seeking a Senior Product Development Manager to lead product development across multiple categories and brands. You will drive strategy from concept to commercialized product, manage supplier relationships, and lead a team of product developers in a hybrid Issaquah, WA environment.

The role requires 8+ years in product development and production management, with deep garment manufacturing expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and international travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in product development and production management
• Deep understanding of garment manufacturing processes and vendor compliance
• Strong forecasting, buy planning, factory loading and capacity planning knowledge
• Knowledge of component costing; garment construction and material options
• Understanding of international trade agreements, HTS codes, customs regulations and safety standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication with global teams
• Frequent international travel

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive product development strategy from design to production; manage lifecycle from prototype to production
• Manage vendor relationships; negotiate prices and resolve issues
• Drive cost negotiation and maintain product margin responsibility
• Explore technologies, concepts, and materials to add value
• Research trends by attending shows; meet suppliers and factories to present ideas
• Collaborate with Sourcing to establish new relationships and evaluate suppliers
• Collaborate with cross functional teams on design and engineering for seasonal development
• Execute seasonal development calendars to meet deadlines, costing KPIs, and quality standards
• Manage monthly capacities and WIP reports; balance orders with supplier capacity
• Ensure suppliers deliver on time meeting SanMar quality and compliance requirements
• Support social compliance and safety standards across supply base
• Coach and develop direct reports in PD team
• Perform other duties as assigned
