Who We Need:
The Senior Product Designer - UI/UX helps support businesses across screens and ultimately make home financing more approachable. This role is responsible for the usability, accessibility, and design of intuitive, user-centered digital products and platforms. In addition, the Senior Product Designer plays a lead role in the definition, development, and maintenance of our internal design system, Kinetic, ensuring consistency and quality across all products. They lead collaboration with cross-functional teams, including other designers, developers, and product managers, to create cohesive, scalable experiences that align with user needs and drive business goals. They also contribute to design team culture and may provide mentorship to less experienced designers.
What You Will Do:
- User Experience Ownership: Own and lead UX and UI design for assigned products and platforms, ensuring usable, intuitive, and accessible experiences that address user needs and business requirements.
- Design System Development: Lead the design and development of our internal design system, including tokens, components, patterns, guidelines, and documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure the design system is integrated into product design and development.
- Consistency and Quality: Ensure consistent, high-quality user experiences across products and platforms by maintaining and evolving design system governance.
- User-Centered Design: Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices (such as clarity, consistency, and accessibility) within the design system and across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead design discussions and influence decisions by communicating and advocating for design strategies to stakeholders, securing buy-in and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously evolve our design system and product experiences.
- Product & Platform Design: Work closely with product managers and developers to design intuitive, modern interfaces for mortgage technology products, platforms and services.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior designers, contribute to design team rituals, and help foster a culture of design excellence.
What You Need:
- Bachelors degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 6-10+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design, with a portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex product initiatives, leadership on cross-functional teams, and system-level thinking.
- Experience designing digital products and contributing to enterprise-level design systems using tokens and variables for theming.
- Experience influencing product direction and collaborating at a strategic level across departments is a plus.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles.
- Understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, theming, tokens, accessibility standards, and design-to-code workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; works effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with experience making data-driven design decisions.
- Understanding of branding and its relationship to design language and systems..
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines while collaborating with stakeholders.
- Presentation skills to showcase designs, explain rationale, and incorporate feedback constructively.
- Experience mentoring or leading small design initiatives or teams.
- Demonstrated ability to guide stakeholders through design decisions and advocate for users at a strategic level.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from one hundred nineteen thousand dollars to one hundred sixty seven thousand dollars, determined based on the applicants experience, skillset, education, training, certificates, and licenses.
