Job summary

Base is building America’s next-generation power infrastructure by deploying distributed batteries to transform today’s grid into a resilient system. We seek a Senior Product Designer to own the experience of our internal tools and to design systems that scale across cross-functional teams.

You’ll shadow users, prototype with AI tools, and collaborate with Operations and Engineering to ship production-ready UI that enables faster decisions and robust, scalable software foundations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing digital products with strong product thinking.
• Experience designing internal tools or workflow-heavy software.
• Systems thinker building reusable patterns and durable foundations.
• Strong product instincts with ability to conduct user research and turn insights into improvements.
• Capable of balancing multiple projects with structure and clarity in ambiguity.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems that speed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive internal tools that improve workflows across teams.
• Shadow users, interview, and uncover opportunities to improve the product.
• Proactively identify opportunities and propose thoughtful solutions based on user needs and business impact.
• Work across multiple efforts at once and bring clarity to ambiguous problem spaces.
• Own and evolve the internal design system with reusable components and patterns.
• Prototype ideas with AI tools and contribute production-ready UI.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering from discovery through implementation.
• Look for opportunities to replace one-off solutions with scalable systems.
• Raise the quality bar across internal products with a systems-first approach.
