Job description

This role can be located in the following countries: UK / Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team. If you’re excited about redefining how people understand and grow their skills — by designing elegant, AI-powered learning experiences — this could be your next great adventure!

At Workera, we believe design is instrumental in making sophisticated AI systems feel intuitive, personal, and human. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the end-to-end learner journey, helping users verify what they know, discover what’s next, and build toward their goals with confidence.

To support this, we organize into small, mission-driven teams (2–3 people) using the ShapeUp methodology. Each team focuses deeply on a meaningful problem for six weeks. As the designer on your team, you’ll transform insights into ideas, wireframes into prototypes, and experiments into elegant solutions that balance intelligence with empathy.

You’ll also partner closely with product, and engineering to bring cutting-edge capabilities to life — from adaptive assessments to agentic workflows — crafting experiences that are not only functional, but engaging, empowering, and trustworthy.

About your team

We work in small, focused teams (2–3 people) using the ShapeUp methodology. Each team tackles a high-impact challenge over a six-week cycle. As the designer on your team, you’ll shape the user experience from start to finish — conducting discovery, wireframing solutions, prototyping interactions, and refining designs through close collaboration with product and engineering.

You’ll also help define how Workera’s AI-native capabilities show up in the user experience — crafting agentic workflows, simplifying complexity, and ensuring our users feel guided, supported, and in control of their learning journey.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
  • Collaborate with a product manager and engineering manager to conduct research into customer goals and challenges.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to validate design decisions, and contribute to a library of insights to evangelize customer needs across the org.
  • Shape customer problems and opportunities by refining insights and wireframing new experiences; rapidly iterate via low-fidelity prototypes.
  • Partner closely with engineers to evolve solutions from rough concepts to polished, high-fidelity interfaces and experiences.
  • Experiment with the latest generative AI technologies to design intuitive experiences that make the most of Workera’s AI-native capabilities.
  • Design agentic AI workflows that balance automation with user control—ensuring AI output is observable, correctable, and aligned with human goals.
  • Collaborate with product design teammates to ensure a consistent, quality experience across the platform.
  • Use, contribute to, and help evolve Workera’s design system and visual language.

*Please note as we are a dynamic and quickly growing scale-up, things are always subject to change*

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years designing digital products (UX + UI)
  • Experience with design systems and strong system-level thinking
  • Ability to design simple solutions to complex user problems
  • Humility and willingness to act on design feedback in an iterative process
  • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT or equivalent digital assistants and applying them effectively within your work context.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with the corporate skills development industry
  • Understanding or experience with designing human-in-the-loop or AI agent interfaces

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp .
