About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Diamond team, focused on refining Discord’s existing foundational product surfaces. Instead of launching new features, you will be tasked with reimagining and improving heavily used features, such as voice messages, media viewers, and settings platforms. As a Senior Product Designer, you will work on the full product development cycle, from concept to launch, ensuring a high-quality user experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaboration: Partner with engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists to oversee the user experience from concept to launch.
• Design Craft: Create wireframes, prototypes, and beautiful mockups, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and quality.
• Ownership: Take ownership of design quality for your product team and proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality of your work.
• Product Strategy: Influence the team’s roadmap by using a deep understanding of the product space and helping define the strategy and direction.
• Communication: Present your designs to the broader team and build consensus around your vision.
• Design System: Identify gaps in our design system and contribute patterns that address design debt.
• Culture: Contribute to the design culture by sharing insights, providing feedback, and participating in team discussions.

What You Should Have:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience leading design on consumer products across multiple platforms (mobile, desktop, console).
• Leadership: Experience leading a design squad or initiative, making design decisions, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Gaming Passion: A strong passion for video games and gaming experiences.
• Design Expertise: Mastery of design tools such as Figma, and proficiency with high-fidelity prototyping tools (e.g., Protopie, Framer, Origami).
• Strategic Vision: Ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive, user-centered designs.
• Craftsmanship: Strong skills in typography, color theory, layout, and interaction design, with a focus on pixel-perfect execution.
• Storytelling: Ability to effectively communicate and pitch design decisions across teams and leadership.
• Data-Driven Design: Proficiency in data analysis to inform design decisions and measure their impact on key metrics.
• Design System Experience: Experience contributing to or managing a design system with reusable components and patterns.
• Base Salary: $196,000 to $220,000 annually, based on experience, with equity and benefits.
