Senior Product Designer, Conversational Design

Job Summary

Reporting to the VP of Product Design and Research, this role is responsible for creating product design work related to customer and sales agent chat interactions, including GenAI chatbot experiences and Voice UI (VUI). The ideal candidate has a passion for empathizing with users and experience designing natural conversational prompts, responses, chatbot, and VUI workflows. The scope includes residential and business channels, as well as internal tools for front-line workers.

This role collaborates with other product designers and UX Research to understand and mitigate customer and agent pain points, streamline design patterns, and workflows based on primary user intents across channels. Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential to evangelize the product narrative. Responsibilities

• Lead design thinking discovery workshops to gather inputs, identify opportunities, and align stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the VP of Product Design on strategy and principles.
• Work with UX Research to understand users, test hypotheses, and validate solutions.
• Maintain an extensible component library based on atomic design principles.
• Ensure brand voice consistency in prompts and responses.
• Participate in requirements gathering, story grooming, and planning rituals.
• Promote best practices and data-driven decisions.
• Organize features and workflows around intuitive information architecture.
• Create and deliver all design deliverables.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Product Design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years designing with components and design systems in Figma and/or Sketch.
• 3+ years designing chatbots and VUI.
• Experience with multimodal interaction design.
• Knowledge of Voiceflow or Google DialogFlow is a plus.
• Strong writing, grammar, and copywriting skills.
• 5+ years working with JIRA for task tracking.
• Expertise in color theory, typography, iconography.
• Familiarity with voice, mobile, and desktop interaction patterns.
• Demonstrable portfolio of past work.
• Attention to detail in design.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to estimate and deliver on time.
