Lumin Digital, a leader in digital banking, is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape innovative user experiences. This role involves leading complex design efforts, collaborating with teams, and contributing to the design system for impactful product outcomes. Candidates should possess strong UX skills and experience in fintech environments.
Basic Function
Lumin Digital is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of digital banking. In this role, you’ll independently drive complex design efforts, contribute to strategic initiatives, and play a key role in translating user and business needs into thoughtful, high-impact product experiences.

You’ll work across a variety of product areas—leading some projects independently and partnering with cross-functional teams to support others. You’ll also help evolve our design system and mentor designers through feedback and shared work.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities, Experience:
- Lead end-to-end design efforts for complex projects, from early discovery through execution and iteration
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, and other Designers to define problems, explore solutions, and deliver intuitive user experiences
- Translate goals and requirements into well-structured design deliverables, including flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs
- Guide others through the design process, offering feedback, sharing rationale, and elevating the quality of work across the team
- Participate in and apply user research findings to ensure your designs are grounded in user needs and behaviors
- Improve existing patterns and help shape new additions to our design system with scalability and consistency in mind
What You’ll Bring:
- A strong track record of independently delivering complex, user-centered product design work
- The ability to think strategically while executing meticulously—you're comfortable zooming out to consider the big picture, then zooming in to sweat the details
- Experience improving or influencing requirements to enhance the user experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates clear problem-solving, design rationale, and measurable outcomes
- Proficiency with tools like Figma and experience working within and evolving a design system
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute to a collaborative, remote-first team
- Experience mentoring or supporting other designers through critique, collaboration, or shared work
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Growth:
30 days: Develop a deep understanding of Lumin’s design system, tools, and product goals while collaborating with team members.
90 days: Take ownership of design projects, delivering impactful solutions that align with user needs and product strategy.
1 year: Become a key contributor to product strategy, design innovation, and the evolution of Lumin’s digital experiences.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- 6–8 years of professional experience in product or UX design
- Experience working in fintech or other highly regulated, complex domains
- Familiarity with user research methods and integrating findings into the design process
- Interest in how AI can amplify design and product development
- Accountability to users, customers, and team members
- Strong collaborative design mindset with experience implementing design thinking processes
- Expertise in User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design, as well as User Interface (UI) and aesthetic design
- Proficiency in responsive design, wireframing, visual design, and prototyping
- Ability to create and validate User Stories
- Proficiency with Figma
- Familiarity with design systems
- Leadership in design studios and workshops
Education:
A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Travel:
Minimal, generally 12 days or less per year, ~2X team get togethers a year
