The Opportunity:

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Product Designer to join our fast-growing startup as the foundational design voice on our team. You'll have the unique opportunity to shape the design culture and user experience across multiple product areas while working closely with several product managers and engineering teams.

This role is perfect for a seasoned designer who thrives in ambiguous, high-impact environments and can influence design decisions. You'll be responsible for establishing design standards, processes, and practices that will scale as we grow.


In This Role, You Will be Responsible For:
  • Design Leadership & Strategy
  • Own the end-to-end design process across multiple product areas and work streams
  • Establish and maintain design systems, standards, and best practices
  • Partner with product managers to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles across engineering teamsR
  • Define and measure design success metrics in collaboration with product and engineering leaders
  • User Experience & Interface Design
  • Design complex AI/ML interfaces that make advanced RAG and GenAI technologies accessible to diverse user groups
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and potentially mobile applications
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
  • Design data visualization and analytics interfaces that help users understand AI-generated insights
  • Optimize user flows for both technical and non-technical users
  • Process & Operations
  • Establish design review processes and feedback loops with engineering teams
  • Create and maintain design documentation and specifications
  • Build efficient handoff processes between design and engineering
  • Develop design operations practices that scale with team growth
  • Manage design tool stack and ensure team adoption
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with several product managers to prioritize and scope design work
  • Participate in technical discussions to understand constraints and opportunities
  • Present design concepts and rationale to leadership and stakeholders
  • Mentor engineers on design implementation and maintain design quality standards
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • 8+ years of product design experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving and systems thinking
  • Experience designing for AI/ML, data analytics, or developer-focused products
  • Proven ability to work independently and influence without direct authority
  • Excellence in design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.) and prototyping
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and design system principles
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams in agile environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions
  • Experience at early-stage startups (Series A-B) or as a founding designer
  • Background in enterprise software, developer tools, or AI/ML products
  • Knowledge of RAG, LLMs, or other AI technologies
  • Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Previous experience as the sole designer on a large engineering team
  • User research and usability testing experience

$145,000 - $160,000 a year
