Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Product Design Engineer to take direct responsibility for the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules within Apple Vision products.

You will own analysis, assembly and reliability across the full development cycle, from concept to production, while collaborating with vendors and multiple engineering teams. The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering and 10+ years of hands-on consumer electronics design, plus strong CAD (NX) and GD&T

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required
• 10+ years of hands-on consumer electronics product design experience
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills, experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes
• Experience working in technical project groups in a professional environment
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
• Proficiency in GD&T techniques and creating 2D drawings
• Proficiency in tolerance analyses with statistical techniques
• Experience with external manufacturing vendors (DFM/DFA, FAI/CPK)
• Knowledge of engineering materials and interpreting FEA results
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including emails, presentations
• Creative problem solving and DOE creation
• Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple assignments

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility over the mechanical design of parts, assemblies and modules within Apple Vision products
• Own the analysis, assembly and reliability of these parts
• Engage in the product design cycle from concept development through prototyping and testing
• Collaborate with vendors to bring the design to life
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams including Industrial Design, Project Management, Manufacturing, EE, Display, Camera, Antenna, Battery, Softgoods, Human Engineering, Human Factors, Safety and more
