Job summary

Dover Corporation's PSG division is seeking a Product Design Engineer to translate sales and marketing specs into robust mechanical solutions. The role applies core engineering principles and FEA to evaluate performance and optimize components such as bearings, gears, and joints for manufacturability and reliability.

The engineer will design with SolidWorks, perform tolerance analyses, and develop test plans to validate new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Knowledge of molding technologies including investment casting, die casting, injection molding and sand casting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to plan projects and manage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional teams to develop new products and conduct design reviews.
• Product engineering activities: troubleshooting performance issues, root cause analysis, and design enhancements.
• Develop project plans and implement using MS Project or similar tools.
• Use SolidWorks 3-D software to build models and create layouts; perform tolerance stack‑up analysis and apply GD&T.
• Develop product test plans, identify instrumentation and measurements, and conduct testing to validate designs.
• Ensure drawings, Bills of Material, and specifications (ASTM, AISI, ANSI B31.1, API-675) are accurate and compliant.
• Provide technical assistance to customers, suppliers, and internal groups.
• Coach lower‑level product design engineers.
