Job summary

Google Labs is hiring for a Data Scientist within the Labs Data Science team in Mountain View, CA. You will partner with product managers and engineers on high-impact analytics projects, including growth analysis, quality evaluation, and user insights, delivering scalable dashboards and metrics.

Individual pay is driven by skills and education. US compensation ranges from $192,000 to $278,000 plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Math, Data Science, etc.).
• 10 years analytics experience or 8 years with a Master’s, plus coding (Python, R, SQL).
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 12 years analytics experience with product/business problems and coding.
• 2 years in data analysis roles (statistician, data scientist) with methods like linear models.
• Ability to translate questions into data-driven analysis.
• Experience turning analysis into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Work with large, complex data sets to solve non-routine analysis problems.
• Conduct end-to-end analysis from data gathering to presentations.
• Share and present analysis to executives to influence product direction.
• Build and prototype analysis pipelines at scale.
• Develop understanding of Google data structures and advocate changes.
