Job summary

Google's Discover Experience team in Mountain View is seeking a Senior Product Data Scientist to drive data-informed product decisions and shape features for millions of users. You will design experiments, analyze results, and partner with product, engineering, and UX to ensure impactful product iterations.

The role requires a strong background in statistics and coding (Python, R, SQL), with 8 years of analytics experience (or 5 years with a Master’s).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and defining launch criteria for important launches, designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of new features and product changes, ensuring we make data-driven decisions.
  • Drive exploratory analysis and user understanding, user behavior patterns, and identifying, sizing and articulating new opportunities for Discover.
  • Work with Cross-Functional Team (Product Management, Engineering, UXR, Design) on launch analysis, product iteration, and impact quantification.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in communicating technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely among audiences across different levels.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
