Job summary

Fluke, a Fortive company near the Seattle area, seeks a senior engineer to review new product designs, support engineering changes, and evaluate legacy equipment against evolving safety and EMC standards.

You will build and document test plans per ISO 17025, analyze results, author reports for international certification bodies (UL/CSA/TUV/Intertek), and specify lab equipment. Occasional travel and some remote work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher recommended.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in product safety, EMC evaluation, or related laboratory work.
• Experience with third-party certification bodies (UL, CSA, TUV, Intertek) is a plus.
• Strong grasp of physics concepts (voltage, current, resistance, inductance, etc.).
• Proficient with a wide range of test equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate new product designs and support design changes.
• Determine test requirements and build test plans per standards.
• Document results in ISO 17025 compliance.
• Analyze test outcomes and recommend component or design changes.
• Author test reports for international certification bodies.
• Specify and design laboratory test equipment and write procedures.
• Support for Ex QMS requirements for equipment used in explosive atmospheres.
• Potential for software development towards hardware interface and data collection.
• Travel < 5%; some remote work possibilities.
