Job summary

Quanex in Mounds View, MN seeks a Sr. Product Regulatory & Compliance Engineer to lead standards, regulatory initiatives, and product compliance across North America and select global markets.

You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to interpret regulations, drive DFMEA/DVPR projects, and engage with industry associations to influence evolving fenestration standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field is required.
• Experience with international standards and regulatory frameworks.
• 5+ years in regulatory compliance or product engineering in fenestration/building products.
• Knowledge of fenestration standards and building codes is preferred.
• Experience supporting sustainability or materials compliance initiatives.
• Ability to develop and renew fenestration industry standards and codes.
• Proficiency with materials compliance tools and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication, judgment, and project planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead standards and regulatory initiatives for product management, advising on improvements.
• Interpret regulations and translate into actionable engineering requirements.
• Support standards development activities in industry associations; lead committees.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting fenestration components and communicate impacts.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards (FGIA/AAMA, ASTM, NFRC, UL, CSA, ISO, ICC).
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on new product development from a compliance standpoint.
• Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain on corrective actions.
• Support regulatory inquiries from Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service.
• Contribute to DFMEA and DVPR driven productivity projects with a compliance focus.
