Job summary

North is seeking a Senior Product Builder, Merchant Onboarding for a remote US role. You will define, design, and prototype merchant onboarding features, automate intake, and real-time underwriting validation to remove bottlenecks, accelerating time-to-value.

Collaborating with sales and underwriting teams, you will validate concepts rapidly, write precise specs, and build proof‑of‑concept features in sandbox environments, leveraging AI tools and modern APIs to move fast and stay competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience.
• High fluency with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted coding agents.
• Deep user empathy built through direct discovery with merchants and underwriting teams.
• Strong technical fundamentals with proficiency in SQL, JavaScript, and REST/web APIs.
• Proven experience working with Agile software development teams.

The Senior Product Builder, Merchant Onboarding is a hands‑on, builder‑first role focused on defining, designing, and prototyping features for the Merchant Onboarding domain. This person will be responsible for automating merchant intake and real‑time underwriting validation to eliminate onboarding bottlenecks.

This role bridges product strategy and execution by rapidly validating concepts, creating precise technical specifications, and building proof‑of‑concept features in sandbox environments without waiting for traditional design or full engineering cycles. By pairing deep technical fundamentals and AI tools with direct merchant discovery, the Senior Product Builder dramatically accelerates product velocity to keep North competitive in the evolving payment processing landscape.

Define, design, and build end‑to‑end proof‑of‑concept features for the Merchant Onboarding domain from start to finish without heavy design queues.

Conduct direct user discovery with merchants and sales partners to build high user empathy, rapidly converting feedback into working solutions within hours.

Maintain awareness of competitor release cadences and point‑of‑sale innovations (e.g., drive‑thru modes, dark mode UI, item grids, group ordering, barcode scanning, and hardware customizations) to ensure rapid feature delivery.

Leverage modern LLM APIs and AI coding agents to accelerate product discovery, code generation, and functional prototyping.

Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent experience

• High fluency with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and AI‑assisted coding agents.
• Deep user empathy built through direct discovery with merchants and underwriting teams
• Strong technical fundamentals with proficiency in SQL, JavaScript, and REST/web APIs.
• Proven experience working with Agile software development teams.

Strong proficiency with Jira and modern product management software.

Hands‑on native or cross‑platform iOS and Android mobile development experience.

Salary Range: $122,000-$180,000, 5% annual bonus
