Job summary

BI WORLDWIDE is seeking a Principal Product Architect to lead as the architectural voice for the customer-facing platform. This senior IC will set technical direction, establish standards, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable systems while collaborating with product, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes strategic design, cross-team alignment, and responsible AI governance, with a hybrid work model in the Minneapolis metro area.

Qualifications

Experience designing cloud-native, microservices-based platforms.
Ability to set architectural direction across multiple teams.
Experience with AI-driven features in production SaaS.
Strong security architecture and data governance.
Excellent communication with engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

Evaluate long-term business needs and translate them into architectural direction.
Lead architecture decisions across the platform (3 architects), including documenting decisions and trade-offs.
Define and maintain platform-wide architectural standards—scalability, reliability, security, observability, maintainability.
Work with product owners to define and design solutions to business problems.
Mentor development leads and architects across the organization; influence through expertise and relationships.
Own the security architecture and compliance for the platform; ensuring systems meet BIW standards.
