Role Overview
The Senior Product & Application Developer leads development of new and modified small molecules and polymers, develops technical value propositions, and works directly with customers to advance evaluations, trials and commercialization activities. The role combines hands‑on laboratory work with direct customer engagement to translate market needs into technical solutions.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Lead development of new and modified small molecules and polymers, including hands‑on laboratory work to advance development goals.
- Lead development of technical value propositions for the growth of existing products into new applications, including establishing end‑application claim support via targeted internal/external test methods and benchmarking.
- Explore, identify and understand customer needs and assist customers in applying and qualifying Aurorium products in their applications.
- Translate customer requirements into technical work plans and develop products as needed to achieve growth. Work directly with customers to advance evaluations, trials and commercialization activities.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and communicate opportunities to the team.
- Convert technical information into appropriate language and level for external and internal technical and commercial audiences – present material as required.
- Serve as a project manager and participate as a team member on market‑driven growth programs and customer‑specific projects.
- Become an active member of the global technology group and provide expertise, consultation and recommendations as assigned.
- Assist with developing intellectual property, including assessing technical landscape and commercial viability, maintaining technical records, writing invention disclosures and coordinating filings with patent counsel.
- Work directly with sales and marketing teams to develop solutions that provide customer value.

Education and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years hands‑on laboratory experience developing new products and/or applications involving at least one of the focus industry segments.
- Demonstrated experience working with polymers including characterization, structure‑property relationships and synthesis/modification.
- Experience working directly with external customers to solve customer problems and identify growth opportunities.
- Previous technical contacts within the industrial and professional society communities to foster learning and accelerate potential new business opportunities.
Experience
- M.S. or Ph.D. in chemical engineering, colloid and surface science, polymer science, chemistry, material science or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, creativity and innovation along with project/program management and organizational skills.
- Capable of providing efficient customer service and technical support for sales and business development activities.
- Proficient in designing experiments, analyzing data and drawing conclusions based on results.
- Demonstrates a drive to continually learn and broaden knowledge across the organization.
- Capable of working in a cross‑functional organization with positive collaboration, team‑building skills and project leadership.
- Familiar with safe laboratory practices and chemical hygiene plans.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
