Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Product Analyst/System Analyst to join our Birmingham, AL area team. The role supports complex financial services processes, data flows, and system interactions in a permanent fulltime capacity.

You will translate business needs into clear requirements, write detailed user stories, and participate in SIT/UAT and end-to-end testing, using SQL for data analysis and issue resolution in an Agile environment with vendor collaboration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business processes, system interactions, and data flows within a financial services and loan servicing environment.
• Translate business needs into detailed requirements and user stories, ensuring clarity for technical teams.
• Utilize SQL for data investigation, validation, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
• Support testing phases including SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing by developing test cases and managing defect resolution.
• Investigate production issues through root cause analysis using system logs, SQL, and scenario reconstruction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, business, technology, QA, and vendor partners, in an Agile environment.
• Coordinate requirements clarification, testing, implementation readiness, and issue resolution with third-party vendors.
• Create process flows and workflow diagrams using Visio or similar tools.
• Support application enhancements and production support, ensuring smooth operations and system performance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience supporting complex business or technology initiatives as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
• Strong skills in business and process analysis, with the ability to understand complex workflows and data dependencies.
• Hands-on SQL experience for data analysis, troubleshooting, and production issue investigation.
• Proficiency in developing detailed business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
• Experience creating process flows and workflow diagrams with Visio or similar tools.
• Background in testing, including test case development, defect management, and supporting SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to analyze application behavior, system logic, and data relationships without requiring software development skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating across teams.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating with third-party technology vendors on requirements, testing, and issue resolution.
• Familiarity with Jira, Apptio TargetProcess, or comparable Agile/product management tools.
• Knowledge of multifamily loan servicing, mortgage servicing, or financial services operations is preferred.
• Understanding of AWS-based application environments and cloud systems is beneficial.
• Comfortable using generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT for analysis and documentation support.
• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
