Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Houston seeks a senior procurement professional to lead EPC and supplier governance for capital projects. You will define strategies, manage long-lead equipment and critical material sourcing, and oversee supplier performance and delivery commitments.

Experience with SAP, ERP systems, Power BI and Excel is preferred, along with robust project management and stakeholder communication skills. This on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Equivalent utility, construction, supply chain, expediting, or materials management experience may be considered where appropriate.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, Power BI, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Project Management, and EPC organizations to define procurement strategies and risk plans.
• Lead identification of critical long-lead equipment and materials to support capital projects.
• Maintain visibility of supplier capacity, lead times, and market conditions to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate negotiations to secure capacity reservations, production slots, and delivery commitments.
• Provide governance and performance management of EPC procurement activities and supplier engagements.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards showing critical-path equipment, delivery risk, and recovery actions.
