Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist/Senior Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of products and services for a major business unit. This remote role will require coordinating with suppliers, expediting orders, and ensuring compliance with contracts and policies.

The position emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and expertise in cost savings, materials management, and performance analysis. Some travel and after-hours work may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR an Associate’s degree with 4+ years of related work experience OR a High School/GED with 6+ years of related work experience.
• Senior level: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience OR Associate’s with 7+ years OR High School/GED with 9+ years.

Responsibilities

• Provides proficient procurement services including expediting purchase orders and contracts, resolving invoice mismatches, pricing, and inventory management.
• Guides the business unit on procurement processes and best sourcing options and materials management strategies.
• Monitors supplier relationships and ensures compliance with supplier agreements to realize value-added services and cost savings.
• Demonstrates strong focus on the Business Unit and Supplier relationships and provides customer service functions like responding to inquiries and providing material status.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and Duke Energy standards.
• Analyzes and evaluates supplier performance and maintains daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Acts as SME on Supply Chain projects and may serve as team lead; mentors procurement personnel.
• Supports duty rotation including nights and weekends and participates in focus and corrective action meetings.
