Job summary

Johnson Controls in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a procurement professional to support the Data Center Solutions/Silent-Aire group by tactically purchasing commodities, supplies, and services. You will manage inventory levels, build strong supplier relationships, and analyze bids to secure the best prices for the company.

You will also provide supply chain support to project engineering and Silent-Aire departments, perform data capture and analysis, prepare routine bids, and assist with more complex

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, etc.)
• 5+ years of related experience in purchasing for industrial or manufacturing environment
• Proven experience at an intermediate level with Microsoft Excel
• Aptitude and communications skills related to developing and maintaining effective working relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to form and maintain professional working relationships with both inside and outside vendors
• Ability to travel as needed – 10%
• Working in an office environment with a manufacturing setting that requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services for the organization
• Coordinate with supervisors to maintain inventory levels and secure best pricing while building supplier relationships
• Provide supply chain support to project engineering and Silent-Aire departments
• Capture, analyze data, prepare bids and proposals, and assist in bid openings
• Expedite shipments, monitor vendor performance, and update vendor files
• Contribute to continuous improvement of supply chain systems and processes
