Job summary

Pharmaron's API manufacturing site in Coventry, RI is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing of chemicals, raw materials, lab supplies, and related materials critical to GMP manufacturing and site operations.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure material availability, optimize costs, lead times, and delivery performance, while maintaining compliant procurement records and supporting supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with relevant procurement or supply chain experience preferred.
• Experience with RFQs, supplier selection, and pricing.
• Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for chemicals, raw materials, lab supplies, and other materials.
• Create and manage PRs and POs, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier responses, and support sourcing decisions.
• Communicate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and material requirements with suppliers.
• Identify and address material shortages or supply risks impacting operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align material needs with manufacturing priorities.
• Support supplier negotiations to improve cost, service, and lead times.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies in invoices and orders.
• Maintain procurement documentation to support GMP compliance and audit readiness.
• Track supplier performance and contribute to spend analysis and improvement initiatives.
• Assist with additional site procurement and inventory programs as needed.
