Job summary

Cabka Group in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to drive sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships from our manufacturing operations. You will manage contracts, negotiate terms, and optimize costs to ensure reliable supply and quality across the organization.

This role requires strong stakeholder collaboration with Operations, Engineering and Finance, along with hands-on ERP experience and a proactive approach to procurement challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Strong procurement knowledge including cost drivers and total cost of ownership.
• Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and technical procurement requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Quality, Finance and Engineering.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies, identify and qualify suppliers, and analyze markets, costs and supply risks.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and lead times.
• Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives and support procurement efficiency.
• Ensure reliable material availability, manage supply risks and optimize inventory and safety stock.
• Lead procurement for CAPEX, MRO and technical services including negotiations.
• Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders and ensure procurement data accuracy in SAP/ERP.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and ensure compliance with policies and strategies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and Engineering to improve processes.

Senior Procurement Specialist

Your responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop sourcing strategies, identify and qualify suppliers, and analyze markets, costs and supply risks.
• Supplier Management & Negotiation: Build and manage strategic supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and lead times, and resolve commercial and delivery issues.
• Cost Optimization: Identify and drive cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives while contributing to overall procurement efficiency.
• Supply Continuity & Inventory: Ensure reliable material availability for production, manage supply risks and support inventory and safety-stock optimization.
• CAPEX, MRO & Technical Procurement: Lead procurement for equipment, CAPEX projects, MRO and technical services, including commercial and warranty negotiations.
• Procurement Operations & ERP: Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders and ensure accurate procurement data in SAP/ERP.
• KPIs & Compliance: Monitor key procurement KPIs, support inbound logistics and ensure compliance with procurement policies and Group Purchasing strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and Engineering to improve procurement processes and support business decisions.

Your profile

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field, with at least 5 years of procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Procurement Expertise: Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain economics, cost drivers and total cost of ownership, combined with a strong commercial mindset.
• Supplier & Commercial Management: Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, cost optimization and supplier performance management, including supply risk mitigation.
• Manufacturing & Technical Understanding: Good understanding of manufacturing processes and technical product specifications, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, challenge requirements constructively and build alignment across Operations, Quality, Finance and Engineering.
• Systems: Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, and strong Excel skills.
• Languages: Fluent English is required. Spanish language skills are a plus.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in plastics, recycling, packaging, automotive or other industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with CAPEX and technical procurement.
• Experience working with Asian and European supplier markets.
