Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced Procurement Consultant to lead enterprise-wide category management and strategic sourcing for indirect categories. You will partner with senior leaders to shape category strategies, manage RFx events and contract negotiations, and mentor Category Managers across a global scale.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree and 15+ years in sourcing, with exceptional communication and leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance preferred.
• Fifteen+ years in Sourcing or Procurement or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; flexible and collaborative.
• Strong understanding of procurement strategies and supply chain management.
• Leadership and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops enterprise-wide procurement and category management practices.
• Works with Category Managers to set and communicate category strategy.
• Mentors Category Managers on industry knowledge.
• Develops and communicates strategy to meet business unit and corporate plans.
• Leads sourcing events (RFx, RFI, RFQ, renewals, negotiations).
• Manages contract review, drafting and negotiations.
• Supports supplier governance, scorecards and performance reviews.
• Ensures adherence to procurement processes and regulatory requirements.
• Uses Contract Management System for organization and classification.
