Job summary

BioSource Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Analyst for a Milwaukee-area client in heavy equipment manufacturing. You will lead sourcing activities for new product development and current products, develop and drive category strategies, and manage supplier relationships to reduce costs.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing, experience with relevant commodities, and strong negotiation skills. Travel 20–30% is required; APICS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• Exposure to commodities such as castings, metal fabrication, hydraulics, drivetrains, engines, or plastics.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience with master supplier agreements and cost breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize supplier relationships.
• Manage $30–$50 million commodity spend and develop sourcing strategies.
• Lead negotiations and master supplier agreements.
• Analyze purchasing volumes to drive supplier consolidation and cost reductions.
• Lead supplier selection for global and regional strategies for current products and NPD components.
• Mentor and train new Sourcing team members.

You will also independently develop, implement and drive Category/Subcategory as well as Supplier Strategies for non-globally driven categories. What you will be doing:

• The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst will drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize supplier relationships while leveraging deep sourcing expertise.
• Responsibilities include managing $30 to $50 million commodity spend, developing sourcing strategies, and collaborating with key cross-functional teams.
• Lead negotiations and execute master supplier agreements
• Analysis of purchase volumes within category to drive supplier consolidation, cost reduction, product portfolio/supplier capability efficiency
• Manage quoting and negotiations
• Lead supplier selection process for both Global and Regional strategies on both current product and New Product Development components
• Mentor, coach, and train new Sourcing team members

What they are looking for

• Expertise in strategic sourcing and commodity management.
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing
• Exposure to commodities such as castings, metal fabrication, hydraulics, drivetrains, engines, or plastics.
• Working Knowledge of master supplier agreements and cost breakdown methodologies.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Understand timeline development and cost structures
• BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Open to 20% to 30% travel
• APICS Certification would be a plus
