Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor in Anchorage, Alaska to handle loan applications, verification, and coordination with originators and members. The role involves data entry into underwriting systems, ordering appraisals and reports, and ensuring timely processing and compliance with QC requests.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in Processor III or mortgage experience, strong typing, and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with mortgage loan processing or Processor III level preferred.
• Strong typing speed and accuracy, basic math aptitude and ability to compose letters.
• Personal computer experience and familiarity with standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Process mortgage loan applications and assist assigned originator
• Verify information received in the mortgage loan application via letters to employers, banks, creditors, etc.
• Maintain logs and files regarding mortgage loan applications processed
• Order appraisals, surveys and updated credit reports as directed by the Underwriter
• Coordinate with originators and members for documentation and approval
• Address member concerns professionally and promptly
• Input, validate and confirm required data into AU systems for approval and closing
• Ensure processing time frames and production standards are met
• Respond to Quality Control and Loan Delivery requests within deadlines
• Provide training support to other processors as needed
• Review processed loan packages for completeness and accuracy
• Participate in seminars and training to maintain knowledge and skills
• Complete required training within deadlines
• Act as a Team Lead within the department
• Coach, train and mentor other Processors

Responsibilities

• Process mortgage loan applications and assist assigned originator
• Verify all information received in the mortgage loan application via letters to employers, banks, creditors, etc.
• Maintain logs and files as necessary regarding mortgage loan applications processed
• Order appraisals, surveys and updated credit reports, as directed by the Underwriter
• Communicate and coordinate with originators and members, collection of documentation and information, stipulations/conditions or any other pertinent data needed to submit to underwriting and obtain approval
• Address member concerns and inquiries quickly, professionally and courteously
• Input, validate and confirm all required data into appropriate Automated Underwriting (AU) system(s) required for approval and closing
• Order items timely and accurately to ensure processing time frames are met and production standards and goals are achieved
• Respond to Quality Control and Loan Delivery requests within specified time lines as directed by each department
• Provide assistance to and help in the training of other processors as necessary
• Review processed loan packages prior to submission to ensure completeness, quality and accuracy
• Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required knowledge and skill development
• Complete all required training within specified deadlines
• Act as a Team Lead within your department
• Coach, train and mentor other Processors

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• One to two years in the Processor III position or prior mortgage experience
• Two plus years direct public contact preferred
• Expert proficient at typing with a knowledge of office machines, some math aptitude and letter composition familiarity
• One year experience in mortgage loan processing with basic knowledge of most program processing requirements
• Personal computer experience preferred
