Job summary

Westlake in Plaquemine, LA seeks a senior safety professional to coordinate process safety management and risk management programs in alignment with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plans. You will develop and implement PSM programs, lead site performance improvements, and supply regulatory guidance to management and operations.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred), CSP is a plus, and about 8 years in chemicals manufacturing with PSM experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Engineering preferred.
• CSP designation preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years site or division level experience in chemicals manufacturing; PSM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
• Participates in the PACE culture of safety.
• Evaluate site performance and lead performance improvements.
• Monitor and revise the site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs to meet or exceed all OSHA, EPA, and DEQ requirements and improve site processes.
• Manage PSM, RMP and Insurance audit programs for the Plaquemine facility.
• Ensure that management systems are in place to accomplish strategic plan goals associated with HSE.
• Develop and provide training for compliance and improvement in the areas associated with PSM.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance.
• Continually evaluate regulatory, community and employee “customers” to ensure that their requirements (or needs) are addressed.
