Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to provide technical leadership in process safety, loss prevention, and fire protection for process facilities and projects. The role requires 12+ years of relevant experience across oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, hydrogen, or related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or closely related field.
• Significant experience in process safety, fire protection, loss prevention, or risk engineering.
• Experience with oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, chemical, LNG, hydrogen, energy transition facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead process hazard analyses and risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID/What-If/LOPA).
• Evaluate hazards from flammable, toxic, and high-energy materials.
• Develop safety philosophies, design criteria, and engineering studies.
• Review safeguards, independent protection layers, and risk-reduction measures.
• Perform consequence analyses for releases, fires, explosions.
• Support siting, occupied building risk, and hazardous area considerations.
• Lead MOC, PSP/PHR, incident investigations, and PSM activities.
• Review PFDs, P&IDs, and related safety documentation.
