Job summary

Quanta Consultancy Services Ltd seeks a Senior Process Safety Engineer for an initial 12-month contract in the US field of Life Sciences, based in Ohio. You’ll support a next-generation pharmaceutical project and help deliver a world-class program from a major new-build facility.

The role requires deep PSM knowledge, experience updating program content, and the ability to convert gap assessments into prioritized actions. Strong collaboration across teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, safety engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience updating PSM program content (manuals, procedures, governance documents) for audit-ready evidence.
• Knowledge of PSM elements: information, MOC, mechanical integrity, emergency planning, and PHAs.
• Ability to convert gap assessments into prioritized actions.

Senior Process Safety Engineer – US, Ohio – Initial 12-Month Contract – Life Sciences

Be part of a next-generation pharmaceutical project that’s transforming how medicines are made. We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Ohio, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Senior Process Safety Engineer to support this project and help deliver this world-class program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and report 94 GIPSM applicability actions, 112 PSM program actions and the relevant PHA-derived action backlog.
• Support technical triage of PHA/PHR recommendations and verify closed-item quality and incorporation into the PHA record.
• Prioritise overdue actions in Small Molecule, Warehouse and CUB.
• Draft PSM Manual sections and wider GIPSM program documents for PSM Lead approval.
• Complete program-level and element-level gap assessments against HSE-STD-500/applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, safety engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience developing or materially updating PSM program content such as manuals, procedures, element standards, governance documents or audit-ready evidence packages.
• Working knowledge of core PSM elements, including process safety information, management of change, mechanical integrity, emergency planning and process hazard analysis.
• Ability to perform program-level and element-level gap assessments against a defined process-safety standard and convert findings into prioritized actions.
