Job summary

Stantec in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Senior Process Piping Designer to contribute to Advanced Manufacturing projects. You will work with engineers and designers to develop process piping and mechanical designs from concept to construction, using 2D and 3D tools.

The role requires experience with process systems, PIDs, and coordination with internal/external teams; occasional travel and leadership of junior designers are expected.

Qualifications

• 10 years of piping fabrication/design experience in process or mechanical systems for semiconductor, oil & gas, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Two-year technical or associate degree in CAD/Construction Technology with knowledge of Revit/BIM.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned scope of work within project timelines and produce design deliverables.
• Review requirements, design docs, engineering requirements and construction specs to develop designs from concept to construction documents.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams through all phases of design development and construction administration.
• Develop PIDs from block flow diagrams or conceptual sketches.
• Develop process piping and mechanical designs from concept through construction including equipment layouts.
• Create equipment and piping designs in 2D and 3D from PIDs.
• Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings for equipment arrangement and pipe routing.
• Generate component lists with required data.
• Check drawings and project paperwork for accuracy.
• Direct the work of less experienced designers.
• Occasional domestic travel.
