Job summary

Stantec is hiring a Process Piping Designer with 5+ years in piping design. Responsibilities include creating P&IDs, 3D models, and isometrics, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to deliver building designs.

You will work with 3D CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D) and contribute to smart P&IDs, clash detection, and field measurements. Opportunities span biopharma, manufacturing, chemical, and food & beverage sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in piping design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop process piping designs in a 3D CAD environment and coordinate with other trades.
• Stay current with new design technologies and integrate them into workflows.
• Incorporate 2D/3D redline markups into Revit, AutoCAD or Plant 3D; training provided; Revit experience required.
• Produce P&ID content and PFD content.
• Create general notes, schedules, lead sheets, and details.
• Model equipment and 3D piping systems; develop 3D component families.
• Develop 2D/3D piping plans from P&IDs and input data into databases for smart P&IDs.
• Perform clash detection and coordination with other disciplines.
• Coordinate with mechanical/plumbing, fire protection, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Conduct field observations and measurements to document conditions.
• Assist engineers in selecting piping components and developing specs.
• Create 3D renderings and visualization models for clients and teams.
• Develop floor plans, general arrangements, sections, elevations, and isometrics.
• Conduct quality control reviews of process drawings and lists.
