Job summary

OxyChem, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Sr. Process Engineer for the Deer Park PVC/KOH plant in Deer Park, TX.

You will lead process improvements, monitor safety and environmental compliance, and provide engineering support to operations, with cross-functional coordination across teams. The role requires 5+ years in chemical manufacturing, strong knowledge of MOC/PHAs, and proficiency in DeltaV, SAP, and related tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
5+ years in chemical/manufacturing environment.
Commitment to safety and environmental considerations in engineered design.
Ability to communicate with plant and corporate personnel.
Knowledge of MOC, PHAs, and incident investigations.
Self-starter with minimal supervision and quality results.
Ability to work weekends/holidays/callouts as needed.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
English language proficiency

Responsibilities

Maintain protection of the environment and health and safety as our highest priority.
Identify, evaluate, develop, justify, install and start-up process improvements to increase capacity and reliability.
Participate in safety upgrades and overall process optimization opportunities.
Provide engineering support to operations including troubleshooting and reporting production status.
Coordinate between Production, Project, Maintenance and Corporate Engineering on capital projects (AFE).
Assist in vendor coordination for operating services, materials, equipment and other needs.
