Job summary

Kairos Power is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to support design, construction, commissioning, and startup of a TRISO Fuels Facility. You will translate process requirements into operable facility solutions, lead hazard analyses, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams throughout design, procurement, and commissioning.

The role involves relocating from Albuquerque, NM to Gillette, WY during construction, with relocation assistance and a focus on safe, reliable fuel fabrication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience in regulated industries.
• Experience delivering PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, and datasheets.
• Facility design and integration across multiple disciplines.
• Experience with commissioning and startup of process systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop process designs and deliverables including PFDs, H&MBs, and P&IDs.
• Define equipment specs for tanks, vessels, pumps, and skids.
• Support layout studies to optimize operability and expansion.
• Lead process hazard evaluations and safety controls.
• Provide oversight during fabrication, FAT, installation, and startup.
