C&I Engineering is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team!

About the opportunity:

We are currently seeking a full-timeSenior Process Engineer specializing in distilled spiritsto help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Process team, which is responsible for developing process designs for distillery and beverage facilities, among other clients. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management, and procurement services to various clients. Primarily, C&I serves the industries of oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing process designs for beverage facilities, both at a high conceptual and detailed design level.
  • Performs a variety of computer-based modeling, design, engineering, and planning tasks on complex projects in distilled spirits facilities, including grain handling, fermenting, distillery, maturation, and packaging.
  • Prepare technical specifications for process equipment.
  • Ensuring vendor submittals meet the intended use.
  • The Senior Process Engineer will develop P&IDs among other technical documents.
  • Interact and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the design process is met.
  • Help mentor and train less experienced engineers.
  • Answer client questions regarding engineering efforts on distilleries and other facilities.
  • The Senior Process Engineer will work with the Distilled Spirits Project Manager to present C&I Engineering to clients, acting as a project resource in distillery operations and design.
  • The Senior Process Engineer uses CAE and spreadsheet tools to evaluate existing, or make recommended designs for new equipment such as pumps, exchangers, stills, and vessels.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or a bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering technology program with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
  • Safely performs work according to C&I and client requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications that set you apart:

  • A Professional Engineer License (PE) is preferred but not required.
  • Prior work experience in distilled spirits facilities.
  • Experience working on multi-disciplined technical teams.
