Job summary

Stanford Climate Ventures in Oakland, CA seeks a seasoned chemical engineer to join the team. You will design robust processing equipment, conduct studies, and support procurement for pumps, valves and heat exchangers.

You will contribute to PHAs and safety as part of a cross-functional team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in chemical engineering, 10+ years of industry experience, and hands-on experience with 480V electrical systems and control architectures.

Qualifications

BS or higher in Chemical Engineering or related field with >10 years of industry experience.
Experience in repairing and reconfiguring used equipment for different processes.
Experience configuring 480V electrical systems.
Experience designing or analyzing thermal-fluid systems such as coolant loops/heat exchangers.
Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar drafting software.

Responsibilities

Conducting engineering studies and preparing design packages.
Designing and evaluating system configurations for heat transport and water/steam handling.
Supporting component specification and procurement for pumps, valves, instrumentation, mixing tanks, and heat exchangers.
Designing and fabricating custom equipment tailored to different products.
Contributing to process hazard assessments (PHAs) and mitigation.
