Job summary

Slate Auto LLC is seeking a Process Engineer for the body shop to sustain, optimize and improve manufacturing processes in vehicle body assembly. You will support daily production, drive efficiency and quality improvements, manage running changes, and provide practical solutions on the plant floor.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering degree and 6–8 years of process engineering experience in manufacturing; automotive body assembly is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in process engineering within manufacturing; automotive body assembly preferred.
• Proven experience in production support and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and related improvement tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day body line production to ensure stability, quality and throughput targets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime, scrap and rework.
• Manage running changes with minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Lead time studies, bottleneck analysis, and capacity assessments to optimize flow.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Dimensional and Maintenance teams to resolve issues.
