Job summary

DSM-Firmenich AG in Belvidere, NJ seeks a Senior Process Engineer for Arachidonic Acid to drive technical direction of a production segment. You will partner with the Production Manager, Process engineers, and operators to meet volume and quality targets while ensuring SHEQ compliance and safety throughout operations.

You bring a BS in Engineering with 5–7 years in chemical/fermentation processes, and you can manage process optimization, execute change controls, and participate in safety reviews

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (or related technical discipline) required; Masters preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably with chemicals, fermentation or biological processes.
• Knowledge of production processes and Manufacturing Excellence workflows (Asset Utilization, Operate Plant Normal).
• Familiarity with Safety, Health, and Environmental practices (PHA, RCA, etc.).
• Ability to independently manage process optimization and improve operations.
• Willingness to support shift, weekend and holiday schedules as required.
• Field inspection and evaluation of process equipment, systems and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for a defined portion of the production process.
• Lead optimization activities to meet volumes and quality targets.
• Assist with troubleshooting and predictive/preventative programs.
• Manage small capital projects and contribute to larger initiatives.
• Develop KPI reports and communicate improvements to stakeholders.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for critical control points and change control documents.
