CapstoneONE Search is recruiting a Sr. Process Engineer for a globally recognized aerospace/defense manufacturer in New Hartford, CT. You will lead development and implementation of manufacturing processes, balance production needs with quality and cost targets, and design fixturing to reduce scrap and improve yield.

The role requires 10+ years in process/manufacturing engineering in regulated industries, strong root cause analysis, SPC, and Lean/Six Sigma. On-site role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of process/manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace/defense or regulated industry.
• Working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100) preferred.
• Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
• Experience with statistical process analysis tools.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training/experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Leads development and implementation of manufacturing processes to balance production, quality, and cost targets.
• Designs fixturing and error-proofing to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yield on high-scrap operations.
• Establishes standard work through time studies and validates performance against cost estimates.
• Applies SPC and process capability analysis to drive stable, high-yield production.
• Leads process planning for new product introduction, including tooling strategy, routings, and BOM development.
• Analyzes shop floor data to identify gaps and implement corrective improvements.
• Applies APQP and risk-based quality planning to prevent scrap and quality escapes.
• Supports cost estimating and equipment justification for programs; mentors junior engineers.

Position Overview

• Leads development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products, balancing production requirements, quality, and cost targets
• Designs fixturing and error-proofing solutions to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yield on high-scrap operations
• Establishes standard work through time studies and validates performance against quoted cost estimates
• Applies SPC and process capability analysis to drive stable, high-yield production
• Leads process planning for new product introduction (NPI), including tooling strategy, routings, and bill of materials development
• Analyzes shop floor performance data to identify gaps and implement corrective process improvements
• Applies APQP and risk-based quality planning to prevent scrap and quality escapes from reaching the customer
• Supports cost estimating and equipment justification for new and ongoing programs
• Leads cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives and mentors junior engineers
• Serves as the technical point of contact for customers and suppliers on process and specification matters

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 10+ years of process or manufacturing engineering experience, with a background in aerospace/defense or another highly regulated industry
• Working knowledge of aerospace quality standards and specifications (e.g., AS9100) preferred
• Strong root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills
• Experience with statistical process analysis tools
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training/experience preferred
