Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Jackson, GA team. You will lead manufacturing process development and optimization to boost efficiency, quality, and productivity, using data analytics and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities include defining SOPs, applying lean improvements, and specifying capital equipment. Candidate should have 2–5 years in process engineering and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in process engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and data visualization techniques.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Communicate with operators, maintenance personnel and others to determine engineering solutions to processing issues.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques and statistical tools to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain advanced process documentation, including detailed SOPs and work instructions.
  • Use lean and continuous improvement practices to optimize processes.
  • Design, specify and lead installation of capital equipment for new product manufacture.
  • Provide performance specifications for any new equipment or equipment enhancements.
  • Develop modifications to existing products and processes for improved quality and efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance.

  • The salary range for this position is $68,500 to $100,000 with bonus potential.
