Job description

Description

3V Sigma USA is seeking a Process Engineer who thrives at the intersection of chemical engineering, reaction chemistry, and hands‑on manufacturing.

This role is for an engineer who wants to understand why a process behaves the way it does—then use chemistry, process data, engineering fundamentals, and collaboration with the people running the operation to make it better.

You’ll serve as a key technical resource for up to four production processes, troubleshooting complex problems and driving improvements in safety, quality, yield, reliability, and productivity.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of up to four chemical production processes.
  • Develop a strong working understanding of the reaction chemistry behind assigned manufacturing processes and apply that knowledge to process troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Analyze and correlate production data to identify root causes of quality, yield, productivity, equipment, and process‑performance issues.
  • Lead investigations involving customer complaints, off‑specification production, equipment failures, and process upsets.
  • Define, implement, and verify corrective actions and process improvements based on investigation findings.
  • Lead process improvement projects from problem definition through implementation and follow‑up.
  • Correlate final product quality with raw material, reaction, and production‑processing data.
  • Track production yields, perform mass balances, and identify opportunities to reduce process variation and losses.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools to improve process performance.
  • Participate in and support Management of Change (MOC) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
  • Partner closely with Production Operators and Supervisors, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Management, Sales, and other stakeholders to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Serve as a technical resource and problem‑solving partner to manufacturing operations.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably chemical, specialty chemical, polymer, materials, or a related process‑manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated success applying root cause analysis and structured problem‑solving methods to manufacturing issues.
  • Experience investigating and resolving production, quality, equipment, or process‑performance problems.
  • Experience with or working knowledge of MOC and CAPA processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate production and process data into actionable improvements.
  • Strong Chemical Engineering fundamentals and the ability to quickly learn new reaction chemistries and unit operations.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and communicate technical information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

Experience in batch or specialty chemical manufacturing is especially valuable.

Candidates may have experience with or familiarity with one or more of the following reaction chemistries:

  • Batch polymerization or oligomerization
  • Bulk or emulsion polymerization
  • Free‑radical reactions
  • Nucleophilic substitution
  • Esterification and transesterification
  • Hydrolysis reactions

Experience with or familiarity with the following chemical unit operations is also valuable.

  • Distillation
  • Filtration, including cloth filter presses and belt filters
  • Vacuum drying
  • Rotary drying
  • Powder handling and packaging

Additional preferred experience includes:

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC)
  • Mass balances and production yield analysis
  • ISO 9001
  • EFfCI
  • GMP manufacturing environments

You do not need experience with every chemistry or unit operation listed above. We're interested in engineers who have strong fundamentals, relevant manufacturing experience, technical curiosity, and the ability to learn new processes quickly.

Why 3V Sigma USA?

3V Sigma USA is a domestic chemical manufacturer driven by integrity, technical knowledge, quality, innovation, and long‑term partnerships.

Our engineers work close to the manufacturing process and the people who operate it. You'll have the opportunity to solve meaningful technical problems, influence how our processes perform, and see the results of your work on the plant floor.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just want to monitor a process—you’ll be expected to understand it, challenge it, troubleshoot it, and make it better.

Employment Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer. 3V Sigma USA is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
