Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a Staff Process Development Engineer to join our Caswell-based semiconductor fabrication team. You will drive new process development, continuous improvement, and technology transfer in a state-of-the-art facility, supporting NPI, scrap reduction and yield improvement.

You will work across Thin Film Deposition, Metal Deposition, and Backend Wafer Processing, collaborating with multiple engineering teams to optimize processes and ensure high equipment availability and product

Qualifications

Advanced degree or equivalent in Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronics or related field.
Experience in semiconductor, photonics, MEMS, or related high-tech manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and continuously improve production processes.
Develop and qualify new semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Analyse process and equipment data using SPC, Six Sigma, and statistical methods to drive improvements.
Lead or participate in yield improvement, defect reduction, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Collaborate with Product Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to support new product introduction and technology transfer.
