Job summary

MonoSol, LLC is seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer to lead complex R&D efforts for scale‑up, optimization, and industrialization of products at our Chicago site. You will drive robust manufacturing processes, apply scale‑up laws, and create process models to enable manufacturability and compliance.

The role combines experimental work, modeling, and leadership across cross‑functional teams, with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s or PhD preferred; relevant experience may supplement education.
• Typically 5+ years of process R&D, scale‑up, or manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in process modeling, simulation, and data‑driven decision making.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers or technicians is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage significant elements of the organization’s process R&D program, including process development, scale‑up, and technology transfer.
• Develop new manufacturing processes for new products with emphasis on design, robustness, and scalability.
• Design and safely execute laboratory, pilot‑scale, and scale‑up experiments; interpret results and apply scale‑up laws.
• Develop and apply process models using modeling, simulation, and statistical tools to evaluate hypotheses and optimize processes.
• Lead data analytics efforts and communicate results clearly to stakeholders across functions and sites.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; contribute to capability building within the team.
