Job summary

Inscripta is seeking a Process Design Engineer II in Augusta, GA to lead design of new processes, optimize existing operations, and drive capital projects from concept through start-up. The role emphasizes process safety, P&ID development, and cross-functional collaboration with development and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 6–15 years of industrial process design experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Aspen Plus or ChemCAD.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering required; 6–15 years in plant engineering or process design.
• Must read and understand P&ID diagrams at a high level.
• Industrial/plant experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; knowledge of Windows-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and supports conceptual design of new processes, including P&ID development and scale-up calculations.
• Develops mass and energy balances and prepares engineering documentation (EFDs/PFDs).
• Leads capital projects from scope to start-up and commissioning support.
• Maintains safety, quality, and process safety management ownership responsibilities.
• Collaborates with development teams to scale lab processes to pilot plant operations.
• Identifies capacity, yields, and KPI metrics; supports equipment specification and procurement.
