Job summary

Westlake is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, configure, integrate, and implement control systems for both continuous and batch chemical processes. The role includes P&ID review, support for maintenance, and capital project scope development.

You will manage DCS/PLC networks and provide technical guidance across maintenance teams. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls or Chemical Engineering, 10+ years in process control

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience with process control systems hardware and software.
Experience with DCS (Honeywell or ABB) and PLC systems (Modicon, Triconex, Allen-Bradley).
Experience with APC applications.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Design, configuration, integration and implementation of control systems in chemical processes.
Maintain and upgrade DCS/PLC systems and networks, including IP21 hardware.
Develop cost estimates and participate in PHAs/LOPAs for assigned area.
Provide technical support to maintenance instrument supervisors and technicians.
Communicate with vendors and project engineers on scope and applicability.
