Job summary

Smurfit Westrock seeks a process control engineer to lead design, implementation, and support of DCS, PLCs, and HMI applications across the pulp and packaging environment.

You will backup systems, troubleshoot networks, and maintain hardware while coordinating with operations and maintenance teams to achieve production goals. Strong communication and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred; other engineering or CS degrees acceptable with DCS/PLC/HMI experience.
• Minimum of two years of industrial experience with degree; or 10 years+ without degree in PLC/HMI applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support Process Control systems including DCS, PLCs, and HMI.
• Perform system backups, network troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance.
• Collaborate with operations, environmental, maintenance and engineering teams; be self-motivated to meet goals.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form; define project scope and manage diverse projects; on-call for production support.
